Should I activate as new or restore?

I backed up my 3Gs in Itunes on my Macbook before I sold it on Saturday but that was before ios4 was released today. When I activate this one on Thursday this will be my first time to do it on the computer. Should I activate it as new or restore it? I'm so confused. :confused:
