Just setup the new 3G S using a restore from my iPod Touch. Now it shows the Touch's 'Contacts' app on the phone. I thought there was no Contacts app on the iPhone as it is all under calls?

Any ideas of how I can remove it if so? Cheers!

No worries the contacts app is one of the great mystries of the iPhone, no one wants it there yet apple keeps it there.

I'm in the minority, because I like having a separate contacts app. :)

Another one here who likes the separate contacts app - IMO it makes sense to have it separate because you might not be calling someone: You could be sending an SMS, looking up their address or sending an email

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

That's been there since 2.0.

Yah, who on earth wouldn't want a contacts app? I use it when I'm emailing, texting, editing my contacts ... It only makes sense.

Now if there was a Voicemail app ... That would be silly.

I Just use the Phone Book, its the same app lol.

And its in the dock, where as Contacts is cast to the back.

Yeah I use to like the contacts app, but with the increasing number of icons I would rather just use the phone contacts. I also wish the voice recorder was in the notes app and the compass was in the maps app.

To each his own.

I can count how many times on one hand in a year I have used the contacts app, which is now on my last page of apps with the Stocks app.

If I want to edit a contact, I just double click to go to favrorites, then click on the contacts button at the bottom. Basically, you can anything in there that you can with the contacts app.

But moving the icon freed up a space on my earlier pages for more important apps to me.

So I wish Apple would allow us to HIDE it. (Not take it away for those that still like it.)

I wish we could hide it, I just access e-mail addresses in the mail app, sms numbers in the message app, phone numbers in the phone app.

Or maybe evening adding a contact.
