I just lugged our our old PC monitor to my room (10+ year old CRT) to use as a dual display until I can afford a Cinema. Works OK, but um, it keeps making this weird popping noises every five minutes or so and goes black for a second but flashes back. The screws on the cable seemed a bit loose, so I tightened them. Let's see if that keeps it from coming back.

As a person who knows nothing about monitors (I hadn't even though of dual displays until this site lol), is this a bad sign? Is it going to explode in my face? Or worse, on my Powerbook? :p Thanks!

crt is about to go.

you can get a dell instead of the cinema , a 17'' dell is only a bit more than a hundred UK pounds and that crt must be taking a lot of space
