Hi! I'm going to college and I need a laptop. I've always wanted a Mac and there's lots on Craigslist for around $300. The 2008 models are around $370-400. Is it worth getting any of them?

My main problem is that I want a Macbook, but I only have around $350 to spend, so I figured "get an old one". Is it worth it to get a 2006 or 2008 Macbook (or Macbook Pro) nowadays? I want to do some video editing and it's just so much simpler to do so in OS X (I had a Hackintosh). Should I just get one of those old Black ones that are 13.3"?

I had a Blackbook up until a few months ago and those things struggle to edit anything beyond SD, at least it did for me in Final Cut. Avoid any 08' models since they have the GPU with the high failure rate.

If you can get a Mid/Late 07 one.

Thanks! Other than Craigslist, do you know of any place I could get a 2007 model for around $400?
