I ran across a black macbook (2.16 ghz) that appears to be fairly new at a great price (~$300 or so). The only problem is that the guy spilled water on it and the battery no longer charges. According to him, "the computer runs perfectly. everything works except the computer will not charge, the battery does charge on other Macbooks."

Is this something I should consider? How difficult would something like this be to fix? Even if I have to keep it plugged in this might actually be a decent deal. Any thoughts?

thanks, Jason

i personally would have nothing to do with that... that just sounds way too risky... water damage is never good

i wouldn't, water and electronics don't mix. I think apple will charge a lot plus future repairs won't be covered because applecare is voided because of self damage
