Hey guys my friend wants to sell me his iphone 2g that doesn't turn on for 25 bucks it seems like a good price for the thing but because it doesnt even turn on i dont know what i can do with it...

should i try to maybe open up and replace battery or any other funn ideas you guys have to do with it?

or should i try to sell on craigs list for like 100

i need stupid an fun ideas too u know anything u have on ur mind please feel to write =]

i highly doubt you could fix it, those devices are highly complex and troubleshooting the problem is basically impossible.

id be happy if i could sell it for $50, of course you would advertise that its broken.

your trying to fix something with that much of a limited knowledge?? no offense but goodluck lol.

it should still turn on when you plug it in, dead battery or not.

no im pretty knowledgeable with iphones just not so deep in this particular category

if it does turn like itunes detects it im guessing the screen has fried or if it doesn't turn on at all, the motherboard has failed right?

any other things possible?

if itunes detects then yea could be the screen, if nothing happens then it could be anything.. a brocken socket connector, damaged connector somewhere, RAM is damaged, SSD has been damaged/failed, etcetcetc.

You could always take it to Apple and see if they can figure out what is wrong with it.

If you are lucky, they may give you the option to replace it for $199.
