I really want a nano, but would hate for something new to come out...you a new one will come out in the next 3 weeks?

if you get a nano get apple care. I have three dead 2nd gens all with the same $%& problem. A tiny chip blows out on the motherboard, one got so hot it burned and cracked the glass on the LCD. Nanos are cool, just get applecare on it!

Why did you need applecare? Surely this would have been covered by the normal warranty?

I bought these units for parts after apple gave the customer another unit. I could show you exactly what goes bad on these boards. A replacement board is about 120.00 dollars for a 2GB and it isn't worth that to replace. I have two Almost like new Nano Cases with screens & clickwheels if someone needs nano parts.

But Applecare or a replacement plan is cheap insurance for any iPod.

no new nanos soon. get yours now. enjoy.

btw, everyone agrees.

Including me. Seriously. The 2nd gen nano is stylish, elegant, surprisingly durable, and just plain WORKS.

If you want the reassurance of AppleCare and can afford it, it can't hurt. (There's always a chance, of course, that you would have thrown your money away if the nano never breaks down; nevertheless, do what makes you feel comfortable about your purchases.)

yea i think i will..i mean the fact that it's so cheap refurbished (same with the mac minis) and the reports that they might refresh the line really makes me wonder if they will anytime soon
