Should I buy a used 2012 Macbook Pro?

Seems like the going price is around $600 Canadian in my market on Craigslist. Is this too risky? The other options are:

- $1139 + tax refurbished from Apple.
- $1229 + tax new from Apple.
- $600 all-in used from Craigslist.
- $899 + tax used from a local electronics store.

The idea of paying $1500 for a 2012 computer fills me with rage, but so does the idea of buying a lemon from craigslist that dies after 3 months of use.

I'm going for the 2012 13" non-retina, so it looks like that was unaffected.

Sure. The price is pretty reasonable and you can upgrade the memory and hard drive.

Why get fill with rage, if you don't want to spend that sort of money, then move on. Its not worth getting all worked up.

$600 all-in used from Craigslist.

I like this option the best, as it allows you to save the most money.
