Should I buy an Iphone 3G ?

Hi, I currently have an Ipod Touch 8gb, and am very interested in getting an Iphone.
But does anybody know if a new Iphone will come out this year, or the price of the current Iphone will go down.

The upgrade in June won't be minor changes. There will a low-powered secondary display that will allow displaying visual notifications while the screen is locked in standby. If I didn't make sense look up the recent Apple patent about visual notifications on lock screen. This patent will actually make it into the June new gen iphone. This info is legit.
