I have an old pink 4GB ipod mini, which is so inconvenient with it's black and white screen + it's low capacity. I've been thinking about getting an ipod touch to satisfy my needs, but I'm not sure if it's the best idea right now. I've checked the forums, but I haven't found any definite proven answers about a new update coming out in mid July. Is it a hardware or a software update? Because one can just buy software updates, unlike hardware updates. Are there any speculations for any new features on the ipod touch? What should I do? Do I wait a bit longer, or should I purchase one now?

They just released the 32GB model so I wouldn't think anything new is coming.
They will be releasing a firmware update for the touch similar to the iPhone. If you wait you'll get it free with the new touch. It's not a big deal, think they said it would be about $10 for the new firmware.
