CANADA? eh?
Its 430cnd cash.its unlocked and ready to use with rogers

is it worth it? i want an iPhone so bad...but my parents think its a huge waiste of money...

My $0.02:

If you can pay for it, then buy it. If it is your parents' money, then they get to decide :)

Disclaimer - I don't own one myself, but am sitting on the fence. Thinking of getting an 8GB and unlocking it, if the iPhone is not available on business accounts by December.

Cheers.

its my hard earned working money

they think its a huge waiste

I got one on Rogers.. i think its amazing even though i miss buttons :( lol
but my parents thought it was a waste too...but i justified it because I needed an ipod...and by selling my old phone...it would of only cost me 120$ extra which is cheaper than an ipod and all in one...so try that...if theyre tech savvy they might see the worth once they get a touch and feel for it. I even convinced my mom to want one after she said its a waste of money lol

its 400 now...i got it that low

unlocked with 1.02?

so how can i insure when i plug it into my computer it wont automatically update to 1.1.1?

Im going for it! i worked hard for my money..so its mine ..i earned it

ill sell the razr i bought for like $75

asking macrumors denizens for "permission" to defy your parents probably means you aren't mature enough yet to make this decision for yourself anyway.

Listen to your parents for crying out loud.

I want to get one too, but with the recent bricking due to the updates, not worth the hassle. There are rumors of Rogers getting this in January, though they will charge two arms and a leg for it.

im 17 in grade 12

and also

i was going to buy a 8gb touch but thats 349 plus tax cnd...so the iPhone is like 400 for an 8gb so it makes more sense

Don't do it. Data plans in Canada are wildly expensive. The best data plan Rogers has is $60 a month on top of regular cell charges (total of about $100 / month) and you only get 25 Mbs of downloads a month. You can blow through that in a day on an iPhone. Some people have had $1000 a month bills.

Just use it with wifi ,dont input the network passwords and you'll have nothing to worry about. I am very happy with mine on rogers.

I've got an unlocked iPhone on Fido which is essentially Rogers, and it trumps every phone I've ever owned (V60c, V80, W800i). At $400, it's a great deal regardless of how old you are, as paying $50 extra for a phone/camera that doesn't take up any extra room in your pockets (on top of the iPod you were going to buy anyways) is the smart thing to do. Back in August(ish) a company in Edmonton called Omegacell was selling iPhones for over $1000! What would your parents think of that?!

ok

No problem at all. I jump between my windows and my mac all the time. Just be careful not to upgrade it. I always turn wifi off of my notebook before syncing it ( just incase). Enjoy:)

It's fine, but in any case you can "virginize" it and upgrade to 1.1.1 yourself to be comfortable, it's really not that hard.
