I have a 2017 13" TB Macbook Pro. I'm a student, and I currently work alot with text documents as well as music composing and graphic design. I recently fell in love with the new 16" Macbook Pro, as I remember being in deep love with the size and horsepower of the older 17" models. For this reason, I have had a lot of thoughts on buying the new 16" model.
The thing is that I'm put in a situation where I'm forced to pay negative deposit interest of my money, if I don't spend about 7.500$ within the next two months. I feel obligated to spend the money on the stock market, but I'm very unfamiliar and feel insecure with investing in such, and therefore would rather spend money on something I could keep and enjoy for a long time (considering maxing out the specs). I will likely be doing graphic-demanding tasks on my upcoming higher education (in about 2 years), and thought of this as a better investment for me.
However, the 13" Macbook Pro is doing great for my current needs. It does what I need it to do. I just love, love, love large laptops. I want to get the 16" so bad, but I think I would feel ridiculous having two laptops, especially when the 13" is only 2 years old (I don't prefer selling it!). I mean... really... I don't NEED to have another laptop, but damn it, I love that 16". The only logical thing here being the need of a laptop capable of running heavy tasks later in my life.
Apple really did a good job at making me want something I don't inherently need. I've done a great job pairing down my belongings over the years and have been living a minimalist's life. But damn it all, I want that Macbook Pro. Anyone here have two laptops? I need to be convinced that I'm not spoiling myself if I do this (which I probably am?).
Or perhaps I should just forget it all and go outside? Is it a good time to buy a MBP anyways?
