Should I buy Apple digital A/V adapter for my iPad 2?

I've been looking at the Apple digital A/V adapter for quite some time and I'm debating whether I should get it or not. I really like how it looks but I don't know how I would use it besides playing Real Racing 2 and other games, watching YouTube videos, and Skyping. I can't imagine other uses for it since I already have Netflix on my HDTV and I don't do many presentations.

Do you think I should buy it? Is it worth $39? How else could I use it?

It's under $37 on Amazon...so tempting. But I don't want to buy it if I won't use it. iPad 3 ft away is as big as my HDTV 8 ft away.

It's a handy thing to keep in your bag but ever since 5.0.1 Video Mirroring and Apple TV, that little dongle has rarely seen the light of day.

Is there a device, other than the Apple TV, that will Video Mirror the iPad 2 Wierlessly?
