Should I buy ipod touch in US and ship to Taiwan?

I plan to buy my Dad an ipod touch, fill it up with pictures and videos and ship it to him in Taiwan. Is that a good idea or bad?

Are there any alternatives like ordering online and getting it shipped to Taiwan directly (without me adding pics and videos)?
