I'm setting my eyes on a MB467 selling for $1100, which is very hot price i think.

but the rumors said the new line of MBP are coming out in Jan, so I might as well wait for the new low-end model.

MB467 Aluminum:
$1100
13.3'
2.4GHz
2GB RAM
250GB HDD

MBP990:
$1300
13.3'
2.26GHz
2GB RAM
160GB HDD

apparently, the 467 is better than the current MBP, but how different will it be from the next model (given it will stay in the price range 1100-1300)?

SHOULD I BUY OR WAIT?????????????:confused::confused:

Go with the MBP. Despite the slower CPU and smaller HD, you're guaranteed to get a good LCD panel. The Unibody MacBook from 08/09 had TERRIBLE screens in the first run (ask me how I know :( ), and pretty good screens just before the MBP refresh. Also, with the MBP you'll get the FW800 port and the 7hour battery.

Also, I'm assuming you're not in the USA because here, the 13.3" MBP 2.26ghz is only $1199.

:eek:you scared me... how terrible is the screen? how do i know if it has the bad screen?
I do care a lot about the screen coz i need to do photo editing on it.

im up north in canada. everything is $100 more expensive, despite the similar currency

I had the first generation unibody MacBook with its terrible screen. Once calibrated, the colors become acceptable, but blacks are never black (gray) with lots of backlight bleeding and atrocious viewing angles. The MBP screens are not great either but are still far superior to the old uMB.

However the uMB's screen is brighter by about 10-20%.

The contrast ratio for the MBP is nearly FIVE (FIVE, FIVE, 5, 5, 5) times higher than the uMB; color gamut 60% wider; viewing angles laughably better.

uMB contrast: 161:1
MBP: 750:1

Do you really need to make a decision right now? Another few weeks and we may have some news from Apple on the MB/MBP front.
