I have not bought shoes because I am waiting for the ones that give you superhuman powers.

The only problem is that people have been looking at me funny because I am barefoot everywhere I go and I usually get turned away from stores.

What on earth should I do?

It's not a perfect one, but a nice analogy anyway.
For the ones that still don't get it; If you need it, like your shoes, buy one. If you can live without or have higher needs for other things, like homeless people that rather have food/drugs than shoes, get something else.

i don't get it

this is in the iPad forum so shoes clearly equals iPad
he is asking whether he should buy shoes (aka iPad) or wait for the next super power shoes (next gen. iPad)

the first poster (below the OP) says to wait and spend it on something else.

im not going to argue for either side.. all i will say is i want shoes so im gonna buy some fairly compact shoes rather than wait for the super human ones where they all jump to the moon and die :p

I love my shoe and when the super human ones come out next year I buy one of those too.. Hmm then I'll have a pair of shoes
Life is good... :)

The purpose of shoes are to protect the feet in enabling walking. To discard proper protection in favor of barefoot travel while waiting for a vague promise of fancy heels is painful, injurious, and foolish.

I'm quite happy with my shoes. I use them more and for more purposes than I would have anticipated.

Also, I would recommend getting some shoes with 3G, it's a much nicer experience and doesn't leave you wanting for more. I only have the smallest ones, though.
