So I presently have a 20" iMac from summer of 2006 and I was wondering if I should upgrade to a new Macbook Pro. They seem like the ultimate in computers today. Now my current computer has a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 512MB ram, and a 250GB hard drive. So what do you guys think? If you have questions, please ask.

Why do you need a new computer your current is pretty fast already? What's wrong with saving some money and just maximizing the ram and installing a bigger hard drive or buying an external like Time Capsule?

oh I guess I should have mentioned, I've really been wanting to switch to laptops, instead of desktops, partially to prepare for university.

Okay that clears things up :]

You may want to wait and get it right before you leave for college. I'd definitely recommend the Pro, but why buy now when you can get a more current one when the time comes?
