Should i Delete Previous systems

I have upgraded From Tiger to Leopard. There is now a Previous Systems folder that is around 8GB in size.

Is it a good idea / safe to have it delete to clear some room for the Hard Disk?

Yes, that folder what created when you upgraded in case you wanted to revert. Nothing in it is being used.
