I have a 2010 model of the macbook air which I purchased in 2011. It only comes with 2gb ram. Should I upgrade to OSX Mavericks?

Yes, it's more optimised than previous versions and not so resource intensive so you should be fine. Obviously it will run better on better hardware but it won't run any worse than Mountain Lion or whatever you are using now.

I am currently using Snow Leopard and it is pretty fast. That is why I am hesitant...

Is there any specific feature in Mavericks that you're looking for? I'd say if there's nothing that really jazzes you up and you're happy with SL, then why not stay onto SL until you have to upgrade.

Mavericks is a fine, stable feature rich OS, but if there's nothing being offered that you need and all your apps run w/o require Mavericks then why not wait.
