Should I get a firewall?

Hi all,

I have had my iMac for a month or so now but due to me buying too many Xbox 360 games last month I have only just got my iMac online and I am wondering if there is a need for a firewall on OS X? I know that you don't need an anti-virus on it but I'm not sure about a firewall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS. Be nice I'm new to OS X

OSX already comes with a firewall, it is located in the sharing pane of the system preferences.
