Im heading to the USA next week and im debating wether to get an ipod touch?
are they really much better than their brothers (ipod classic)?

go to a store and have a play, does mean you'd be easily tempted to snap buy though.
 
I did this 3 weeks ago in LA. Saved myself £75 on the 16Gb thanks to the exchange rate. Well chuffed!

Would have got an iPhone if there wasn't all the hassle with unlocking/bricking etc.

If you don't need the capacity, the Touch is very nice.

If on the other hand, you want to carry a huge music library, or many songs and videos, the the Classic is probably a better option.

Best thing to do is give the Touch a good work out when you are in the states and see what you think.
