hey y'all, I'm planning to get a second hand Apple Watch S7/8? The S8 is $63 more. Both of them are the same material and case size. Is the S8 worth it? With the temp sensor, crash detection? I won't use these features and ik the processor and everything else is the same, but maybe for $63 more might as well get the S8? The S9/ultra 1/2 are out of my budget. Rlly hard for me to decide.

Find the battery health of each. Buy the one with the better battery, all things being equal, if the new features don’t have any attraction.

I was just going to say the same thing about the battery. Theoretically, the S8 is more likely to have the better battery since it's newer, but we don't know how the watches have been treated or if they've been replaced.

Also, what are you going to use the watch for? Perhaps consider a brand new SE for $250 (or less if you can find it on sale). It has the same S8 chip as the Series 8 (which is just a rebranded S7, which is just a rebranded S6).

How about this: Get a new Series 7, 45mm Graphite Stainless Steel for $392 shipped and sold from Amazon. The Series 7 and 8 are identical with respect to performance (ie same chip set)….so if you don’t need/want the S8 sensors…go for the 7. You can always sell it when you upgrade and recoup most of your cost at this price. Get the S7…hang onto it until it makes sense to upgrade (ie Series 10 & new design?)

I just got a Stainless Steel Series 7 for £320, excellent condition. The S8 were around £400 and a new S9 would have been £800. I’m happy with my purchase and don’t regret it for a second. I couldn’t see any benefits to getting the newer ones. I was upgrading from an SE.
