There are a number of threads discussing this kind of choice - check those out. But first think about what your needs and likes/dislikes about tablet size are. Nobody can give you advice in the absence of information.

Depends on the screen size you prefer. 11" is portable. 12.9" is heavier.

You can go for 1TB or less capacity.

I'm very hppy with my 11" 256gb Silver, so I recommend that 😄

If you prefer to use it in your hand, I'd go with 11. If you plan on using it with a keyboard and/or on a desk, go with 12.9. Also if you're primarily using it for watching movies I guess the XDR display is the way to go. Personally I'd just use my TV anyway for watching movies, so I hdr movie watching capability is low on my list of priorities.

I have not recieved my 12,9" yet, but i've had a first and second gen iPad Air before.

When I had those, the iPad felt just like a bigger iPhone (which was pointless for me). This is why I now, a few years later, opted to try the 12,9" because of the current iPadOS14X (and new iPadOS 15) which has had quite a few updates and has changed how we use the iPad. The bigger screen is a must for me since otherwise it simply feels like a slightly bigger iPhone.

Honestly the 12.9” mini led iPad is the best display I’ve seen on a apple product to date.

I’d play it safe, since you don’t know which iPad you want, buy them both from apple, then return the one you don’t want within 14 days.

If size isn’t a issue, 12.9” iPad all day, every day and treat yourself to a gorgeous white magic keyboard while you’re at it. 😜
