I'm pretty confused. I'm a web design major the main apps I will be using is photoshop, illustrator, and dreamweaver. I like the portability of the 13, but at the same time like the screen real estate of the 15. I will be lugging whatever I get around with me. So weight is a factor, also price is a factor I'm thinking around 1600 maximum I can use student discount to hack off about 100 dollars and some money off things like ram software etc.

Get the 13 inch for now and get an external monitor when you can afford it. You're a student and money is kinda a key issue now and while the 15 inch is portable, its a noticeable weight whereas the 13 inch will probably be almost negligible compared.

I agree you should get the 15". I do some Xcode and sometimes I run out of room on my 15" screen (I wish I got the hi-res :().

by the way, I suggest getting it from Amazon.com unless you don't pay sales tax where you live. You get an $80 discount AND there is no tax (unless you're in New York).

I call the 15" "Baby Bear", 'cause it's just right. :)

15" 2.4 i5 Refurbished $1529.00

I have the new 13" and I love it! BUT... I bought it because I couldn't get the 15". I would have loved to get the 15, but the money wasn't there. I did have the option of getting the previous gen 15" (2.53GHz Core2, 4GB RAM, Geforce 9400M), but I decided that the newer 320M was worth the smaller screen size. I've used both, and speed-wise my new 13" is noticeable quicker in any graphics-intensive app. But I still love the 15" size...

MORAL OF THE STORY: If you have the money and don't mind the slightly larger/heavier travel size, get the 15". Other than size and price, it has no negatives, as its better than the 13" in every single way.

But the 13" is a great machine, too. :)
