My touch screen stopped working and my choices are to pay about $100-$150 to get it fixed, and hope it doesnt break again or get the new one. What should I do? My Ipod Touch was already glitching after i updated it, would it be a waste to get it fixed? Or should I just scrap my old 3rd Gen and get the Itouch 4?

If you have to spend that much to repair it, I recommend just getting a new 4th gen, you'd be more satisfied and get a brand new iPod :)

What is the physical condition of your iPod? You could sell it to like Gazelle and combine that with the repair money to buy a new iPod. I've seen a lot of deals online lately for some good prices.

Its already a year and 3 months old but I'll try that thank you :)

Love my touchie!! (Haha)

It's a 4th gen, and yes, I recommend it. It's better in so many ways... saying this because my friend had a 3rd gen, I've messed around with it and yes, you should get the new device.

.Retina Display
.Flat on the back (Doesn't rock back and forth on a table)
.Camera (2 Cameras)
.Microphone

Go for the 4th. I had a 2nd, and then got a 4th. What a difference. When going back to the 2nd, you'd realize what a low res screen it had, even though it has a very high PPI. You can use FaceTime on the new iPod, and use video Skype calls, without the external microphone (I understand Skype released a new version, but I haven't upgraded yet). Retina Display games look better, however, non-retina display games look worse.

Have you tried going to the Apple store to plead your case? Sometimes they can be very accommodating, and I'm sure they don't want you to have an iPod last until just out of warranty. You might be surprised.

As other users have said, with repair costs that high, as long as you have the means I would definitely take the leap and buy the 4th gen.
