Hi everyone, as you can see im new here on the forum, but as far as i can see you guys seems like nice helpful people.. So my question is should i go for the Iphone 12 pro ? Now i have NEVER had any Apple products, my first smartphone was a HTC and today im rocking a S8 Plus, which is a great phone dont get me wrong, but ios is pulling on me.. So is there any of you guys who have went from Android to ios, and is the software just better on ios, Like sure i can check all benchmark and stuff, but in reality is ios faster ?.. Thats honestly the most important for me.. The only thing holding me back from going with the Iphone 12 pro is 60 hz and the fact that android smartphones are coming with 5nm chipsets next year, now 60hz only i can live with that, but can i be sure that the Iphone 12 pro will stay on top, the A14 seems solid.. Anyways hope some of you who have switched to ios from Android can help here .. Thanks, and sorry for my horrible english :D

Nope. Just doesn’t sound like iOS is a good match for you. Just not feeling it. Sorry. Good thing you posted here to ask. You never can be too sure.

Horrible English?! Sounds nearly native to me!

I've often felt the pull to move to iOS, but features in android really hold me there:
- Tasker app
- native Google Assistant
- Browser choice
- Adguard (not sure what the difference is to iOS version though)
- launcher choice (Nova!)
- and probably many other Android apps/features I'd find essential that I now take for granted.

Where iOS wins hands down is:
- OS update support beyond a couple of years.
- backup and restore between devices - oh my god, the pain of doing this on Android vs a couple of clicks on iOS.

Maybe you'll just have to find yourself a 'cheap' older iPhone model to try iOS for yourself. While android often has cutting edge tech, there's more to phone use than that alone.

As someone who’s made the jump back and forth multiple times, I’d suggest trying it out. I’ve owned many, many Androids. I’ve also owned an iPhone 4, 6 Plus, X, and am waiting on the 12 Pro Max that I have pre ordered. I don’t personally think either OS is better than the other. It’s all a matter of preference. I did notice that I keep iPhones longer and don’t feel pressured to upgrade as often. I’ve kept all of my iPhones significantly longer than an android. They age better. The longest I’ve kept an Android was a year before the pull to upgrade got me. iPhones don’t change much from cycle to cycle, hence why I’ve kept my X that I’ve had since a few months after launch.

I think it also depends on how locked in you are to either ecosystem. I’m now more locked in to the Apple walled garden than ever. In my house there’s several iPhones, an iPad, a MBP, an Apple TV, AirPods, and Apple watches. They all link up pretty seamlessly, and would be prohibitively expensive for me to replace some of these with android equivalents. This has kept me using iPhones.
