Should I got AT&T or Apple?

I live a few minutes away from AT&T, but the nearest Apple is about a 30min drive.

I went to the AT&T store for the 3G and was 25th in line after arriving at 4am. I really don't want to wait in line again. But I want to pick up the phone from the store since FedEX doesn't come to my area till 4-6pm.

Which should I go with?

Called the nearest Best Buy and the lady said they will be doing preorders.

I then asked if it was a guarantee I would get it on launch day, and she said no, it depends on the stock.

I also asked if they would be opening early on launch day and she wasnt sure.

So thats a iffy choice.
