I was just wondering if I should have my new macbook pro (late 2008 2.4) screen replaced.

I have the 9c85 screen, and as you can see from the pictures I have attached there is a significant amount of what seems to be light leakage at the bottom of the panel.

This computer has no other noticeable defects, however I can't seem to get over the bottom of the screen having those light patches.

Are any of you experiencing similar problems ? If so what do you recommend I do?

I have an appointment with a "genius" at my local apple store tomorrow. Is this something that I should be seeking a replacement for?

Thanks in advance !

I would have Apple replace it. That would get on my nerves every time the screen got dark.

update ...
Apple switched it out and gave me an additional 8% off (which I applied to the 2.53 model :D ).

My new machine is perfect and it has the 9c84 screen. My first impressions with this panel is that it is much better than the 9c85.

Good, glad you took it back. Others on here would have directed you to keep it. Don't listen to them.
