My Macbook Pro (late 2007) sometimes gets really loud (exactly as in this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG7nfjTVhfA) when the rpm hits the high 5000s. Sometimes the sound will disappear as the rpm goes down, sometimes I need to put the computer to sleep. Once I even restarted and the sound was still there, although it went away a few minutes later. It's the fan on the right side, below the power button.

What are the risks of installing the SMC update 1.3? I have Apple Care, but there are only a few authorized service providers in my country and it would be a major hassle. It's unclear to me whether I have the problem which the update is designed to fix, or if the update will exacerbate the problem or worse. Thanks in advance!
