Hi !

Well, I have a few questions about the unthetered iOS 5 jailbreak.

1. Does it slowdown your iDevice?
2. Does it decrease battery life?
3. Is there a lot of bugs or is the latest version of Redsn0w stable? Because I know that's a beta, should I wait until a Stable version?

Thanks!

PS: I have a 4G iPod touch

1. Depends what you install
2. Again, depends what you install. But mostly, no.
3. Redsn0w will always be in beta, it makes no difference. (So yes, its stable)

No it doesnt slow down your device. Depends on what you install though, but my friend's had a lot of apps and tweaks and he didnt lose performance. It did to mine but mine was a sluggish 1st gen ipod touch.

Battery life not so sure, it depends on the apps and tweaks you install but overall it shouldnt.

I believe the beta version works fine.

Ok thanks for the fast answers! But do you have exemples of apps or tweaks that slow down the device? And I heard the first version of redsnow that could untether jailbreak the iOS 5.01 made the device laggy. Is that true? Thanks!

Its really hard to name all the apps from cydia that makes the ipod touch laggy, just be careful of what you install.

Ok so I can conclude that jailbreaking a 4G iPod touch on iOS 5.01 with redsn0w is completely safe and doesn't slow down the device? There's really no bugs at all? Sorry if I'm annoying but I really want to be sure. And thanks for your answers guys!

You're not being annoying, you're being informed. There's nothing wrong with that. I have had my last 2 iPhones jailbroken (and will jailbreak my iPhone 4S when it becomes available) and did not notice any difference in speed or battery life. I would definitely go with it, the pros outweigh any cons you might think there are.

Ok thanks you almost convainc me. One last question: If my iPod is slower after jailbreaking, I'm gonna restore it but do you know if the "speed" will "come back"?

Yes. Restoring brings the device back to what is was when it first left the factory.

I installed BlurriedNCBackground and even though its amazing, I find it slowing down my device with it installed. Maybe its just me.
