I am looking at buying a new iPhone, coming back from Samsung.
I have been with AT&T for many years.
I want to try US Mobile, but if I don't like it might end up back on AT&T.
It's my assumption that if I buy the phone new and unlocked from Apple, that I can use it at either of these 2 carriers? Or any carrier for that matter?
Thank you!

Yes and US Mobile is a a MVNO that can utilize T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and AT&T networks. If you go back to AT&T you will be using their BYOD process.

Any carrier would work including MVNO.

I bought mine using Apple Card monthly installments with 0% for 24 months using Visible MVNO.
Had to order it saying I have T Mobile.
Worked flawlessly when I activated it onto Visible...

As long as you don't use "AT&T Installment" plan, your phone should be unlocked.
