Should I keep WIFI on?

Should I keep WIFI on all the time when i am at home or school. I always have it on right now but i would like to know what is best....

I always leave it on but turn off the option "ask to join networks".
Battery is fine.

I used to turn my Wifi off and really didn't notice that much of battery savings on my 3GS and now 4.
