I've recently downloaded a client to play Go at the goserver.igoweb.org. It says "JavaApplicationStub" in my application switcher but the Application is called CGoban, I'm not sure what this discrepancy means.

Anyway it works OK but sometimes it's a bit slow. I noticed in the Configure dialog box that it says "Port 2379" and I was wondering if that means I should open this particular port manually in the Advanced section of the Sharing prefs.

If I did open it manually should I put the 2379 number in both the TCP and UDP fields?

Is this likely to make it work faster or not make any difference. Also does opening a port like this somehow give a malicious hacker a 'back door' access to my computer?
