I have found a steal at my micro center they have a 13 inch retina Mac Pro for 950 with 8gb of ram and 128gb ssd, now I've already set it up for pickup but was wondering should I spring for a haswell pro instead?

It really depends on how deep you want to grab later on in your pocket, if you need to get any repair or upgrades done.

Both models are the least upgradable/repairable Apple laptops as of right now.

128gb SSD gives you enough room for OSx, some programs and updates, unless you are shooting for external drives.
8GB ram - better than the base model with 4gb.

I just hope, you are going to get 3 years of Applecare, otherwise you'd be looking at similar amounts to get it fixed as what you initially paid for it(if something goes wrong....)
