I plan on using vmware and installing the os using bootcamp. I need windows for statistics software mostly. I also plan on gaming occasionally; most games i like are not cutting edge. So, I was thinking of putting a lightweight version of xp on my computer. But now windows 7 is out and im reading some reviews that say it actually improves battery life and other that say it makes it worse. Anyone have any insight on which i should install? thanks

I'm not totally sure but the OS you use in Fusion has little to none affect on battery life since you'll be using VMware-provided drivers sort to speak. It also depends on which version of Fusion you have. I believe you can install Windows 7 on Fusion 2.x but lacks some support. Newly released Fusion 3.0 provides better support for Windows 7 GUI affects. If you're not doing anything but a few simple programs, I'd just go with XP.
