Hi,

I kind of feel sad that I bought a refurbished MacBook Pro 2017 15" 1 week ago and now I see the latest one with the new one.

I mainly used it for light development and video editing (non-4K), so I know that my current 2017 model is fine, but the Hex Core is so tempting....

1. By when can we expect to have a refurbished 2018 model?

2. will the price of the 2017 drop so much so soon?

3. DO you recommend me to sell my 2017 before its value lose so much, and grab the 2018 instead?

***I can't return it because I bought it in Hong Kong and asked my friend to bring it to me in Europe....

thanks.

I would still look into returning it, maybe you can ship it back to the store, or return it to a local one.

Apple Stores in HK do not allow returns on non-defective products. Local stores don't take returns of non-local SKUs.

Buying in HK is cheaper than the U.S. but there are limitations.

The shipping cost from Europe back to HK doesnt make sense at all, so it wont work.

Price in HK is almost 820 USD CHEAPER than in europe. So I was wondering if I could sell the HK 2017 macbook pro here in Europe, then I will find a way to buy again in HK and ask a friend to bring it to europe for me.

I still think, if I dont have to lose any money, it's worthy to get the latest one, isn't it?

If you can do it without losing money and don't mind being without a Mac for some time I would have gone for it. are you still getting a 15"?

Just be aware that a buyer properly want some prof of purchases for warranty reasons, so selling at a markup might be hard

I will use it for 6 weeks before another friend can come to europe and bring me the new one. I am still getting the 15"

I am going to buy apple care for my 2017 version (since it's also much cheaper in HK than in europe) so I can sell it with good value. Yes the potential buyer of my 2017 macbook pro might know I am marking it up, but as long as he has no way to get such lower price in europe, he can then decide.

Worst case, if I can't sell it, I will just stick with the 2017 version...
