Now don't come here telling me that I should make my own damn decisions. I would like some friendly input, not some arrogant comments.
I love my 13" MBP 2.4 from April. The battery's great. It's faster than I'll ever need. I love the screen size. My only gripe is that it's to heavy to easily carry in my hand places. I don't take a bag with me anywhere on any regular basis (not like out shopping i mean). I've had to carry my MBP for an hour+ while shopping (didn't want it getting hot in the car) and it definitely gets heavy.
Now I'm considering the MBA for a few reasons:
When I got my MBP, I had been waiting for new ones for many months, and I was definitely not going to wait for the (at the time) year-plus-old MBA's to be potentially updated. They were also too expensive and the battery life was half that of a MBP.
tl,dr it was impractical to buy an Air when I got my Pro.
I want something more portable.
I don't need the power of a pro, or the power of an MB for that matter, I just don't like the plastic. I do mainly iTunes, web surfing, garageband, and text editing/some slideshows, etc.
Big one: I might be able to break even selling my MBP and getting a discounted MBA from a friend (buying for around 1000 for a 13").
Some reasons that I'm slightly weary:
Less space. Does anyone know how the hell I'm using 90 gigs right now? I have a 250GB HDD so I never really worried, but I have like 30GB of media (Music, movies, pics, apps, etc), I can't imagine having more than a gig of text doc's, or any more than 5GB (and that's a HIGH estimate) of downloaded apps. How much does the system files/stock apps take up? I'll only have 128 in the Air.
That's actually about it. The absence of a superdrive won't bother me too much, since I have a few PC's at my disposal that I could use, or just buy one for 80 bucks.
What do you guys think? I'm a very light (no pun intended) user...
