Should I update a base 2010 MBP 13 to APFS?

I recently updated a base 2010 MBP 13 C2D 2.4GHz 8GB RAM with a 250GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD. I cloned the old HDD with Carbon Copy Cloner. I wonder if I should update the file system to APFS, or if I should keep using HFS+? Will the system slow down if I update the file system? Thanks for any help.

Mine works totally fine on APFS with a Samsung 850 Evo.
