Should I update my iPad to the iOS version 6.1.3?

If you want to not have the option to jailbreak in the future, go ahead and update.
I've read 6.1.3 crushes battery, probably not worth updating. There's no new features, either.

Thanks for both replies. Yes, I have heard the same and thats why I'm worried. I have 6.1.3 in my iPhone and I feel like that the battery usage has been increased since the update.
If your iPad is working as you want it to then I wouldn't bother updating. You won't gain anything, you'll just lose the ability to jailbreak and some battery life from the sounds of it.

I've been running 6.1.3 on my iPad4 since release and have not had any issues at all except the Facebook app crashing now and then, but that's been happening even before I got the 6.1.3 update. The battery issues seem to be affecting iPhones rather than iPads, IMO.

Have had more severe, seemingly random battery drainage on iPad3 after upgrading to this version than I have ever seen since original iPad. Went from 100% to 13% battery after only reading a book and checking FB for a few hours (using home wireless). Does not happen every day but has happened several times. Also noticed overheating during this time period, and I'm one of those people whose iPad3 never had any issues whatsoever since purchase date.

Battery issues and buggyness claims are bogus. I've updated on day 1 every single time for every one of my Apple devices. Never an issue. Ever. Except the issue I have with people with too much free time on their hands who claim these bogus things.
