Should I update my iPhone 5 to iOS 9 before switching to 6S Plus?

My 6S Plus is arriving today. My 5 is running the most up to date version of iOS 8. Typically when upgrading I would make sure the old phone was running the latest version of iOS, do a full backup to iTunes and then start the set up process on the new phone.

Is there any reason I shouldn't update my 5 to 9.0.1 and follow my normal switch over procedure?
