I currently have my cable modem plugged into a Time Capsule (1st gen I think) that is acting as my router. The devices that connect to it are:
2011 MacBook Pro
iPad 2
2x iPhone 4
Dell inspiron laptop
PS3
The Time Capsule is running in b/g/n compatibility mode. I also have an AirPort Express running just for iTunes to my home theatre amp.
My question is, should I change the setup so that the Time Capsule is in 802.11n mode, and have the Express running as a separate network in 802.11b/g mode, so that the older devices (ps3 and the dell) don't cause issues / conflicts / slow downs of the 892.11n devices? If I do this, will my Express still be able to do AirPlay?
Alternatively, would I gain anything by replacing the Time Caplsue with a new Airport Extreme to take advantage of the multi mode b/g/n and multi band 2.4 / 5ghz?
Or should I just leave things as they are if I'm not having any real problems?
Thanks,
Dave.
