so.... i'm still in 4.3 bacause i was waiting for the untethered jb on ios5. But since it's taking too long, i decided to update to 5.0 and have the semi-tethered until the relase of untethered.

The problem is that now apple only lets me update to 5.0.1. What do i do???

I can't stand the 4.3 anymore but i can't live without jb either.

HEEEEEEEEELP!!!!

Its down to individual choice.

I've chosen not to jb my iPhone 4 as the current iOS gives me all i personally need.

Idk if this'll work but will erase all content and settings force you to restore?

Damn it! I hate apple! It's MY iPhone!! I bought it and it was VERY EXPENSIVE!! Why don't they let me do whatever i want with it??? It's MY iPhone!!!

Anyway... Thank you for the answers. I've just updated and I think it really worth it. I'll miss cydia, though.

I had the same problem. I just did it anyway, there will be a jb eventually.

There is no untethered jailbreak for ios 5, and neither for ios 5.0.1, and sooner ios 5.0.2 is coming, so, if you want jailbrek, just keep ios 4.3, if want to enjoy the new features from ios 5, just update it.

You can do whatever you want with your phone. Apple doesn't make it illegal to jailbreak. They just make it hard. Half the fun for the JB community is figuring out the next move.

Actually, Apple DID want to make jb illegal. But the U.S law decided to let legal, and then Apple didn't like at all about the decision.

But i wasn't talking about the jb. I was talking about they don't let me update for the 5.0.

So if I have 5.0 right now, going to 5.0.1 isn't an issue right? I just got my new iPhone 4s w/ sprint last night
