Should I upgrade from 2013 MBP to 2020 MBA/MBP??

I have a late 2013 MBP 13" and its getting a bit slow...so I'm curious on if I will see a major difference in performance by getting a 2020 MBA.

My current model is 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.

My use is the occasional excel spreadsheet. Netflix, browsing the web with many tabs open. Lots of youtube.

I was thinking getting the i5 MBA with 8GB Ram. should I upgrade to 16GB? Or should I get the new MBP?

Last question - will the MBA have more comfort with its design? I do type a lot as I am in the process of writing a book.
