Should I upgrade iTunes on Mac OSX 10.6 to 10.1.1

I have an iP4 JB on FW 4.1 but I thought I read somewhere that upgrading iTunes to 10.1.1 does something to a JB iphone?

Correct me if I am wrong and if there is a reason I should not Upgrade?
