Hi all, im in search for a new imac to replace my current system, but i;m in doubt and need some advice.

My current system:
Apple Cinema 27"
Mac mini 2011
2,5 GHz Intel Core i5
16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB
Samsung 256GB SSD

I use my system for:
Office and internet
Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 (these games run okay-ish on the system)

Reasons to upgrade:

+The new thin screen is looks better
+Faster machine

- i dont really need a faster machine.

Replace the current machine with:

The basic iMac 27" with GT755.
Yes the GTX755 is much faster but i can buy the imac with gt755 system for ~1300 dollars (instead of the 1800 dollars at apple)

I can sell my current system for ~1000 dollars. Is it worth for me to invest the 300 dollars and get the new imac 27" or should i keep my current system

From the benchmarks I could find, it looks like at 1920x1080 on High settings the difference is substantial in Diablo 3.

6630m scores around 18 fps
750m scores over 60 fps (and the 755m should be a little faster than that)

Of course, you won't see much or any difference with Office and internet use.

So it depends on how much of a gamer you are. Looks like a worthwhile upgrade to me since you can get such a good deal on the 750m machine (if that includes an SSD and 16GB, if not then you'll need to reevaluate the cost benefit).

Consider that the new machine will have higher resale value down the line than your current machine as well and $300 to jump to it seems like a good deal.

Thank you for your answer.

It turns out, it isnt the 2013 model but the 2012 model with the GTX 675MX GPU.
Is it still worth it to go for this model?

According to this website the 2012 model is so much faster than the GT755, is that correct?

Because in that case the 2012 model would be better for me

Yes, the 675mx is a very nice card. It's gets over 100 fps in Diablo 3 on the same settings as above. These are all PC numbers I'm quoting, but Mac should be comparable.
