Should I upgrade the the 15" 2.6ghz to 512GB or buy the stock and add an external? The price upgrade seems a bit high when I can probably just add a larger external SSD.

Ordered my first MacBook Pro today, 15" with 512ssd.

After basic setup with 4 user accounts how many GB should be left before people start filling it up?

I went with 512GB because it is a lot easier when on the move than carrying an external drive. However, if 256GB will suffice for most of your day to day needs, or if you don't travel too much with your laptop then it's certainly a cheaper option.

I'm still not happy they removed the SD slot, I used it with an enclosure to add 128GB to my current MBP.

@Shockwave78 I know it's not the most helpful answer but it completely depends on what those 4 people will be doing with it. 512GB is a lot unless you are installing a lot of large games or storing 4k video etc. For normal use, including backing up pictures and some videos I can't see it being a problem.
