Although I love the bezelless OLED display, I find the battery life to be a step down and I am not sure by how much while FaceID doesn’t seem all that reliable considering it failed on the first try on stage.

Kinda feeling conflicted on this. Any 7 plus owner upgrading? What should I do?

If you have extra cash then absolutely.

I’m telling myself that my 7 plus is all I need...

I am going to upgrade to the 8+ from the 7+, which most people would probably think is silly. I was all set to go for the X, until the delayed release. I am an impatient person, but it was more of the fact that it would put me 2 months behind on future new releases, if apple still announces new product in September in the future. I will wait and see what 2018 has in store.

If you are on an upgrade program, it probably is a good decision to do it. Here is why. You are going to get $425 for the 7+.

If you held on to it for another year, then sold it. You would get that amount. Doing it now you are essentially doing the same thing but getting a new toy.

I don't use Apple Pay and I always feel like I type in my passcode more often than Touch ID. So I probably would go w X. However, Apple is really sucking us dry w their pricing. The X is not worth that much.

Only you know the answer to this question. Asking a bunch of strangers who don't know anything about you what you should do is literally one of the dumbest things you could do.

I have a 7+ and I'm getting the X. I'm on the AT&T next 12 plan so makes sense for me. Also I get all my phones on launch day so I'm kinda tired of the 7+ and ready for something new. But like someone earlier said, ultimately it's your decision depending on your budget, price, etc.

Good luck with your decision.

Asking a bunch of strangers doesn't necessarily mean the OP is going to take everything literally for advice on here. It's a way of factoring the decision ultimately based on others opinions and considerations.

OP: As an iPhone 7 Plus owner, I plan on upgrading. Like any iPhone, it won't meet all of our expectations and not every feature has to be appreciated, but this new iPhone has enough to offer for an upgrade for me with the camera, processor and Face ID. And of course the OLED display.

It’s ok to get feedback. It’s wise to do so. I’m getting the 8plus from a 7 Plus. I don’t like the x form factor with the notch, facets and lack of Touch ID. But that’s just my feedback. Plus the 8 plus has one more battery hour than the x.

If your hands are tiny and you've started to develop carpal tunnel like me then yes upgrade. If you're hands are big and comfortable holding the 7+ then no. If you can fathom the 11.00 price increase monthly then yes, if not then no

You are trading in your 7 Plus or keeping it?
