Currently I'm on a late model emac and using the CS1 suite. I've just reintalled the OS and I'm still getting it all set up. But I was wondering if I should not bother doing too much more and reinstall again when Leopard comes out.

Or would Leopard be a complete waste of time on an emac and thus shall I just keep on setting Tiger back to where I want it.?

installing Leopard on a late model emac should be perfectly fine as Leopard is Universal Binary. Macs tend to like updating their OS once in a while and it might even make your system faster. do an archive and install (click on customize before you click install) to keep all your settings and preferences. make sure you check the "keep user settings" checkbox (i think thats whats its called). this will only update the system folder and keep your settings intact. you don't have to update to leopard but it would be wise to.... and fun!

I've got 1.5gig of ram at the mo but I'm going to up it to 2 soon.

What I'm mainly concerned about is if it will chug on an emac and what sort of performance boost I would get seeing as I'm using some old apps like Painter 9.5 and the original CS suite.

If it won't hurt then I'll upgrade but I don't want to be in a position where I'm trying to do the equivalent of running tiger on a G3.

EDIT

If I don't mind reinstalling and resetting everything, (which I don't) a complete reinstall is better than an archive yes? or does it make no difference whatso ever even for a brand new OS?
