Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro 15" Late 2012 (Without Retina Display), i7 2,6 Ghz, 750 GB HDD. I bought this in July 2012 for 16500 NOK (approx 2840$)

But, tomorrow there is a great deal from a local Apple dealer in my city. MacBook Pro 15" Retina i7 2,6GHz, 512 SSD for 14000 NOK (approx 2400$, 860$ off).

I always wanted a Retina screen! Should I sell my old Mac and buy this Retina version?

Please help me!!

If you want, you could sell your cMBP and buy the rMBP tomorrow. Or, buy the rMBP then sell the cMBP. Or, if money is not an issue, just get both!

What is your budget? What do you use a computer for?

Asking for upgrade advice on a computer forum without listing intended usage is like hopping over to your car dealer and say "I want a car", and not answering when the salesman asks you "what will you be using it for?".

Haha thanks guys. I use it my Mac for almost everything but, music production, studies, programming, surfing, movies etc..

But, I heard there is an issue with this model, because of the LG screen?

If you need to upgrade, then upgrade. I don't think $2.4K is a "great" price though. Although it is my understanding that prices in Norway are a bit higher.

Although it seems that LG screens might have a higher possible chance of getting IR (image retention), if you ever experience such issues, AppleCare should have you covered for a replacement.

A cheaper option to a better screen is to buy a nice, high resolution, HD monitor.

Skål ;)
