Should I upgrade?

I have 15" MBP mid 2014, 16GB/512SSD i7 and I am wondering is the upgrade to 13" 2018 16/512 quad-core worth it? I am a professional photographer so I use Lightroom and Photoshop mostly. I am also using 27" Cinema display so I will be needing adapters as well. Would I see any speed-up and other improvements?

All of the 2018 13" models only have an integrated Intel GPU.

Some configurations of the 2014 15 inch MacBook Pro came with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics card, but I think the base model only had integrated graphics.

Photoshop and Lightroom both benefit from a dedicated graphics card.

If you click on the apple in the top left of your menu and select "About This Mac," you can see if you currently have a dedicated graphics card.

I do have a dedicated GPU. I am wondering about Lightroom import/export speeds mostly since that is the most time consuming process.

I would take a look at something with a dedicated GPU, like a Refurbished 15.4-inch MacBook Pro 2.8GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7 with Retina display - Silver
